Black Cat in the News

Hello everyone! For our first blog post, we have some exciting news…an article about us is on CBC today. Recently, Robyn was interviewed along with out friend Katie Crane, by CBC NL contributor Andie Bulman, about their work in cemeteries within the province. Andie was kind enough to chat about our business as well, and we could not be more pleased with the article, which was published on the CBC NL website today.

“Archeology, by its very nature, can be destructive. Contemporary archeology strives to be less invasive, so my aim is to teach people how to preserve these stones and spaces while doing as little damage as possible,”

We are very excited about this profile, as we look towards the upcoming 2021 field season, and are looking forward to finally getting out there and helping some gravestones in need across Newfoundland and beyond.

If you are interested in reading the full article and learning more about our work, Robyn’s PhD research, and Katie’s work with the ‘heritagization’ of cemeteries in NL, check out the link HERE. Thanks for reading!
